Comparison for Samsara (rebirth - cycle)
Please think with a clear mind; all human being come to this world with a cry and the people looking at that become delighted and happy about it. The baby was in a dark and unpleasant environment prior to the birth and he does not want to leave it. The crying is the signal of his willingness to stay that familiar location even though it consist of his faeces and urine. Then he likely or unlikely adopt a routine life – learning and schooling, occupation, earning to feed his connected people, suffering over family and lot more. He is carrying out all above but is not aware of end - his death time! Because of this desire, people fight, kings fight for the kingdom, children and parents fight each other and whole society is fighting for some desire of owing something. But no one is aware that all these agitations are only for small period of time.
I would like to illustrate this further with an interesting example. There is an underground train which is traveling on a track through scorching fire, for a millions of years. While a continuous journey, it reach to a train station on earth and stop for 80 years. Completing the stoppage, the train is restarting the journey to underground again and is travelling through the fire blaze. This is the journey of this train which is happening continuously for millions of years. When it reached to the station on earth, a film starts to play in the train. All the passengers start starring at it and enjoy and all of them forget the unbearable and painful journey they came in past. With all visuals, sounds, fragrances, tastes and touches passengers adore it. When the train reach to the earth station thousand times, there is a speaker in the station for a one time. This means once a thousand train journeys the speaker is there in the station and starts addressing the passengers loudly, 'do not be misled and deceived by film, and here is the way to open the door of the train for all of you to come out and stop your journey.' But passengers do not hear it as they are overwhelmed with the amusement by the film. But there is a very minimal number of passengers who pay attention to the speaker and open the train's door and escape to sanctuary. While the time passes with the joyful film some more passengers realize the speaker and try to open the train door may be after 60 – 70 years or in the last moment. Unfortunately the strength for accomplish the task is not sufficient at that stage. After the 80 years the train restart the journey to the blaze fire in underground. Again after millions of year train reaches to the station, but unfortunately by the time there would not be a speaker to deliver the instructions. The speaker is available once a thousand times of train arrival and extremely rare. This example depict our lives clearly. The train is the life. Underground fire is like hells and we come to earth – human world rarely. Film is the lust and desire with us and the speaker is one of Lord Buddha’s. The journey is the cycle of birth and death where the 80 years of train stoppage is human life!
After that interesting explanation, discussing matter can be continued. Happiness is the result of ail. Everything is changing with the time, then suffering arises due to that change, so there is no eternal elements or nothing can be kept unchanged. The finest example for this is your physical body. You can compare the appearance now and 30 years back and determine the change over the time. An individual comprises of five components, namely; Form or body (visuals, sounds, smell, taste, touch and thoughts), Sensations, perceptions, intention (mental formation) and consciousness. Everyone is bound by above combinations as this is I am, those are mine, those are my soul. But Lord Buddha’s teaching is to understand those are not I am, not mine, not my soul. All above mentioned components are changing, uncontrollable and they always arise and cease according to a reason. Due to the incapability of understanding the nature and the behaviour of above components, people try to owe and possess. This is the ignorance. Because of this ignorance human making lust(desire), hate and delusion.
